All Aboard! Take the train to the beach

Starting Saturday June 28, New York and Northern Jersey day trippers will have an alternative to the Garden State Parkway for getting to the beach in Monmouth County.

Freeholder Tom Arnone announced today that NJ Transit is offering express train service to Monmouth County on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, starting tomorrow and continuing through September 1.

Trains originating at New York Penn Station will stop at Secaucus, Newark Penn Station, Elizabeth, Rahway, Aberdeen-Matawan, Red Bank, Long Branch, Asbury Park, and then all station stops to Bay Head, without having to change trains in Long Branch. A travel time savings of approximately 25 minutes is expected from the normal travel time between New York and stations such as Belmar and Manasquan.

“I commend NJ Transit for offering this service and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) for allocating funding for this service,” said Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Information & Tourism and board member of the NJTPA. “These express trains will help visitors and Monmouth County residents enjoy a day at the beach without the hassle of driving.”

A 2013 study conducted by NJ Transit and Rutgers University found that sixty percent of riders who visited the Jersey Shore by train said that they had no other means to make the trip. Other riders said that the train was more convenient and that it was a way to avoid traffic congestion.

“According to the study, Monmouth County is the most popular destination for weekend visitors and the majority of the visitors are coming for day trips,” said Arnone. “These riders are spending between $14 and $16 million dollars during summer weekends and deserve a fast, convenient way to get to and from the Shore. The new express trains offer convenience to our beachgoers with early morning and late night timeframes.”

Seating will be limited aboard the new express service, with customers strongly encouraged to purchase round trip tickets or beach packages (a savings of $6.50 off the cost of rail service and beach admission) prior to the start of their trip.  NJ TRANSIT tickets and beach packages are available at ticket windows and ticket vending machines.

In addition to the train, Seastreak is offers ferry service directly to and from Sandy Hook from Manhattan.

No one cares what you like be it male or not. I’ll tell you one thing – no straight man would react to a humorous (and true) statement the way you did.

The do it because the really don’t like themselves and it makes them feel superior.

If all liberals are as pathetically weak as JR Smith, then liberalism is doomed. Listen up JR – Mike Gin, Carl Demaio (gay), Herman Cain, Allen West, Mia Love (black), Ted Cruz, Susan Martinez, Marco Rubio (Hispanic), Nikki Haley, Bobby Jindal (Indian). What do they all have in common? They are ALL republicans. So your silly, childish name-
calling ain’t working anymore. You see, the groups that you pathetic liberals think you have in your hip pocket are waking up to the fact that the Democrat/socialist party is dooming America and if the ship sinks, they go down with it. So you intellectual lightweights can keep crying racism/sexism/whateverism all you want. Those days are over. And just out of morbid curiosity – what the hell does “keep filling your pockets” mean?

  15. JRSMITH said at 8:03 am on June 29th, 2014:

@proud Cruz-Rubio have done nothing to help immigration the rest are all right wing tea party and we all know they only care about the rich and themselves and do nothing to help the working class or poor. lts the Republican party that is the of NO and is dooming America and wants to put us in war.

  16. Proud Republican said at 9:27 am on June 29th, 2014:

You know what JR? I like when you liberal Democrats et into these back and forth exchanges. It shows how pathetic and weak your beliefs are. You are so predictable “tea party, check, care about the rich, check, republicans are racist, check.”. Here’s a reality check for you comrade. You Democrats are the ones who are doomed. Every problem facing our country can be traced back to some disastrous Democrat policy. Right now, the only hope for Deomocrats is to open the borders, and get the illegals all hooked on government programs. Then, stop any attempt for a national voter ID so they can continue to steal elections. That’s it. If they don’t do that, people of every race, creed and ethnicity will continue to wake up to the destructive policies of anti-American, liberal democrats. You also may want to google Darius Foster. Another up and coming black conservative Republican.

  17. JRSMITH said at 12:00 pm on June 29th, 2014:

@Proud So you are saying that being a Democrat is anti-American you are so sad.Love your thinking your thinking and that of your party just makes it 100% that a Democrat will be in the white house after Obama get ready for Hillary.I am so done talking to a small mind like you.

  18. Oh That JR said at 2:11 pm on June 30th, 2014:

He’s just so insulting isn’t he?

Only liberals have big minds. Everyone else is just too stupid to understand according to them. Sorry buddy, the light is shining through.

But, I will differ on Proud in one area. I would not say that being Democrat is necessarily un-American because Democrats in the days before JFK were pretty much pro America.

It is the far left, far liberal extremist wing of the Democrat Party who likes to hide under the “Progressive” label that is un American because they foster un American ideals

The rest of the Democrats have been told the big lie that is liberalism for so long, they think that they are doing the right thing. But they are waking up too after this disaster of a President. A walking, talking nightmare of an administration

BTW JR, I think you are delusional as to Hillary getting into the White House again. After Benghazi, Iraq and her dismal book roll out, people have her number.

  19. Proud Republican said at 7:26 pm on June 30th, 2014:

@oh that JR – all good points. You are also right about pre-JFK democrats, however, things have gone drastically wrong since then. They have taken a stance against everything that made this country great. They have attacked capitalism, success, initiative, personal responsibility – you name it, they despise it. Between Obama’s apology tour, bowing to dictators, Durbin’s rant against our military, the march to socialism, the targeting of conservatives, the horrendous treatment of our veterans, the booing of God at the Democrat convention and on and on, we are reminded just how much democrats revile this country. You are dead on about Hillary though. She must be in total shock that no one bought her first campaign piece disguised as a book. Maybe the masses are starting to wake up. Keep in mind, even the pathetic liberal media can’t cover up a horrendous economy, rising Islamic terrorism, hundreds of dead veterans at the VA, four slaughtered Americans blamed on a stupid video and a clueless president forever. First step – take back the Senate.

  20. @ JR Smith said at 9:12 am on July 1st, 2014:

I guess to you, this guy is racist:

    http://www.tpnn.com/2014/06/20/black-pastor-on-obama-this-is-the-most-immoral-president-weve-ever-had/

And this guy is NOT un American:

    http://www.humanevents.com/2011/04/02/top-10-reasons-george-soros-is-dangerous/

Wants to curtail American sovereignty: Soros would like nothing better than for America to become subservient to international bodies. He wants more power for groups such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, even while saying the U.S. role in the IMF should be “downsized.” In 1998, he wrote: “Insofar as there are collective interests that transcend state boundaries, the sovereignty of states must be subordinated to international law and international institutions.”

  21. BTW JR Smith said at 9:19 am on July 1st, 2014:

What do you make of this kind of racism?

Now, can we get back to the original story?

I think she is an attractive woman, but the swim suit did not do her justice. A nice one piece would have been great. You always want that little bit of mystery 🙂
