I’m so sick and tired of statements like “police and firefighters who sacrifice so much to protect our safety,” Pure Pandering.
REALLY? like what sacrifice? It’s practically the most cushy job going… with the salary and benefits and pension? Highlands cops making nearly $106 K? to start? We could let the entire force GO, put an ad in the paper for replacements at HALF price, and have a line around the block..
Correct me if I’m wrong? They sign up for this job, right? Where’s the sacrifice? as if people in the public sector don’t make sacrifices.. Who else retires after 20 years?
The only sacrifice I see is the boredom of the job. But certainly not long hours or hard working conditions. And firefighters? I was a volunteer Firefighter for 4 years. NO compensation. So how is it that if you’re a pro, it’s somehow a huge Sacrifice?
Ridiculous. Cut their pay. What makes NJ the goose that laid the golden egg?
