Gary Rich endorses DiMaso for Assembly

Serena DiMaso and Gary Rich

Former Monmouth County Freeholder Gary Rich has endorsed Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso for reelection to a third term in the legislature.

“Serena and I worked together as members of the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners,” said Rich. “It was indeed an honor to be able to work with her. She is a team player and has worked tirelessly for all the residents of Monmouth County. I was able to witness firsthand her fierce defense of fiscal conservatism. She not only promised fiscal conservatism, but she delivered on her promises. As a team player, she has worked to promote the Republican Party and worked countless hours working to get Republicans elected. Perhaps most importantly, she has been a good friend.”

“Some people running for office may promise a lot, Serena has actually delivered.”

“I proudly endorse Assemblywoman DiMaso who has been a strong voice for our families and businesses and that I strongly encourage the voters of LD 13 to return Assemblywoman DiMaso to the Assembly.”

Rich faced a similar circumstance in 2017 as DiMaso faces now, having lost the Monmouth County Republican Party leadership’s support for reelection after two terms. The former freeholder came down with a demanding job promotion rather than fight for his political life, as DiMaso is doing.

Rich was briefly a candidate for U.S. Senate last year.

“Commissioner Rich and I had worked together as members of the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners,” DiMaso said. “I am proud and honored to receive his endorsement.”
