Repeat Offender Charged In Holmdel Attempted Murder
Julian Lee, 25, of Freehold, was arrested in Atlantic City yesterday, December 3, and charged with Attempted Murder for the Monday, November 30 shooting and stabbing of a 28 year old Holmdel man, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Holmdel Police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls on Monday night at about 10:40 p.m. regarding an injured male. A Good Samaritan had transported to victim to a hospital where he was treated for an apparent gunshot wound and stabbing.
An investigation identified Lee as the perpetrator. He was located and arrested in Atlantic City yesterday. Lee is being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a future court date.
Prosecutor Gramiccioni and Holmdel Township Police Department Chief John Mioduszewski wish to assure local residents that this incident was quickly determined to be an isolated incident and there was never a direct threat to the community while the investigation was taking place.
Lee’s previous record includes a November 29, 2015 incident in Howell where, armed with a large kitchen knife taped to a glove, he prepared an assault over a drug (PCP) transaction dispute, according to reporting by Karen Wall of Patch.
Lee pleaded guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Weapon for the 2015 incident. He was sentenced to 2 years Probation. He released the above rap video after being released from the Monmouth County Correctional Institute where he was held on $22,500 bail pending the resolution of that case.
In addition to Attempted Murder, Lee is charged with first degree Armed Robbery, second degree Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, second degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and fourth degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon in this week’s incident in Holmdel.
