Fireworks in CD-4 Dem Debate

Billed as a discussion/forum, the Democrat candidates for Congress in CD-4 ended up in a heated debate during their hour + with New Jersey Globe editor David Wildstein on Sunday night.

The fireworks started when Stephanie Schmid said the nominee should not be an old white straight male….someone like Joe Biden, Phil Murphy or Frank Pallone….Wildstein pointed out.

David Applefield, a white straight male in his 60’s, said he really didn’t want Schmid to win and declined to say he would vote for her in November if she is the nominee.

Christine Conforti also declined to say she would vote for Schmid in November, but offered to coach Schmid on her authenticity and integrity.

Conforti challenged Schmid to say “Black Lives Matter” and attend protests.

Wildstein urged Conforti, and any voter who has not yet mailed their ballot, to use one of the five drop boxes provided by the Boards of Election in each county, rather than the post office, if they want their votes to count.

Ballots must be cast by 8 p.m. on July 7 and, if submitted through the post office, must be post marked on July 7 and received at the Board of Elections by July 14.

The winner of the CD-4 Democrat primary will take on Congressman Chris Smith in the general election.

The right to lose to Chris Smith…

They toss out political playing cards (BLM, race cards, sexual ID cards) instead of talking about their records as well as their plans to solve problems.

Re: their record, I seriously doubt any of them have a record that would show the deserve to be the nominee, let alone the winner of a Congressional election.
