UPDATE 06/01/20. MMM has learned that Murphy will announce a June 15 reopening date for restaurants this afternoon.

Governor Phil Murphy will not allow the State’s restaurants to open for outdoor dining on June 5, as requested by the New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association, MMM has learned.

The NJRHA, whose members and their 350,000 employees have already lost the first two weekends of the unofficial summer season to Muphy’s COVID-19 Executive Orders, requested the governor allow them to reopen with outdoor seating on June 5, indoor seating with 50% capacity on June 15 and 100% capacity by mid-summer. The restaurateurs have been praying for Murphy’s mercy all weekend since their press conference in Sea Bright on Friday.

Their hopes for a favorable announcement from the governor during tomorrow’s daily briefing will be crushed, unless Murphy has a change of heart overnight, according to our source who asked to be protected from the governor’s hunt for leakers in his administration.

Murphy may not allow restaurants to open before Father’s Day, June 21, the source said.

on hardworking, law- abiding citizens need to be lifted, right now : it’s insane that we can’t go to church or out for a meal, but the barbarians and paid agitators can sweep in from anywhere, in droves, steal from others, destroy public and private property, and injure people. It’s now not about a wrongful death, it’s about anarchy, and most of these leaders seem to not have the brains or guts they were born with. We are sick and tired of bad behaviors being ignored and, thus, rewarded.

Unfortunately I know of 3 great restaurants that forced their doors to close permanently they can’t raise the money to reopen. One was in business 18 years. So sad

Murphy caters to the rioters and criminals but puts restrictions on the law abiding citizens and business owners. Just another example of the failed Democratic leadership that is driving our great country into deeper despair. Oh and by the way, I am not a Republican. I am just someone who knows the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong and I vote. Cuomo in New York is even worse. In fact utterly useless to be quite frank. Cuomo’s incompetence killed elderly people with Covid and now he’s letting rioters destroy property and assault people and he doesn’t have a clue how to stop it. Vote for competent people!

Who in the hell is thinking about going out to eat to a restaurant in these times?
I don’t trust the back of the house/front of the house/management to make good calls 100% of the times. Too many moving parts (people) involved in serving my food in a restaurant for now.

Really??? I am required to go to work thru this as an essential employee, and people are worried about going to a restaurant, open them up already and stop jerking us around, enough of this bullshit

Finally, the voice of reason! I need to know more about some other truths too, such as pizzagate, “mass shootings” that were hoaxes, and of course how the deep state is putting flouride in our water supply so we can be subjugated to the mexicancommiemuslimabortionist rule.
