Alleged Rapist/Probation Officer Charged With Witness Tampering

Henry G. Cirignano of Wall, the probation officer charged with Official Misconduct and 2 counts of second degree Sexual Assault for coercing a women under his supervision into sexual activity in February, was arrested again on Monday, April 1 and charged with multiple offenses including witness tampering and making terroristic threats, according to an announcement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Cirignano was arrested on February 4, 2019 on charges related to the sexual assault of a woman he supervised while she was on probation. On February 11, 2019, after a hearing and over the State’s arguments, Cirignano was released from the Ocean County Jail on conditions ordered by the Court, including that he have no contact with witnesses in the case. These new charges are the result of an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office into conduct allegedly committed by Cirignano since his release from jail.

Cirignano is currently being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold Township, pending an upcoming First Appearance.
