Ryan M. Cullinane, 27, of Tinton Falls and a patrolman with the Shrewsbury Borough Police Department, pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to fourth degree Trespass before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Vincent N. Falcetano, Jr., Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni announced.

Cullinane, also a Tinton Falls firefighter, was charged with assault, harassment and unlicensed entry after being arrested by one of his fellow officers earlier this year.  On January 25, Cullinane entered a borough woman’s home uninvited, refused to leave and assaulted a man at the premises with his open fist, according to the complaint.  The following day, he harassed the woman at a public restaurant and then followed her home and refused to leave.

The plea deal provides that Cullinane will resign from the Shewsbury Police Department and forfeit his weapons and firearms ID.

Cullinane faces up to 18 months in state prison but is expected to apply to the Pre-Trial Intervention Program.

The plea was derived after consultation with victim, Gramiccioni’s statement said
