Accused killer of Asbury Park 10 year old is on his way back to New Jersey

Karon Council, 18 of Neptune Township, the accused killer of 10 year old Yovanni Banos-Merino, is in the custody of the U.S. Marshall’s Service and is being transported back to New Jersey from, Charles Webster, spokesperson of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.

Council waved his extradition rights in Broward County Florida Court yesterday. Last night he was still listed as an inmate of the Broward County Jail. This morning he was no longer listed as an inmate in Florida.

The 18 year old accused killer was captured in Pompano Beach, Florida on Sunday night February 25.

Webster said that Council’s initial court appearance in Freehold will not be scheduled until he is in custody in New Jersey.
