Long Branch Attempted Murder Suspect Captured
Officers of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Donovan L. Wesley, 25 of Brick, in Asbury Park on Wednesday, following a 10 day manhunt, according to an announcement by Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Wesley was wanted for charges including Attempted Murder in connection with a shooting that occurred in Long Branch on October 8.
The victim of the shooting, a 30-year-old male, was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
As a result of a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Long Branch Police Department, Wesley was charged with first degree Attempted Murder, second degree Armed Burglary, first degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and second degree Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose.
