Guadagno: Standing for the National Anthem is a ‘no brainer”– Murphy applauds players taking a knee

In the NJ gubernatorial race, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno, the GOP nominee believes in standing for the National Anthem. Former Goldman Sachs banker Phil Murphy, the Democrat, applauds the NFL players who are taking a knee during the patriotic opening ceremonies of their games.

“As the mother of an Air Force pilot, I believe this is a no-brainer. When that national anthem comes on, no matter who you are or what issues you may have, you should stand and salute our flag. Our anthem should and must stay above the partisan political fray,” said Guadagno on Facebook.

“I take my hat off to the players who stood tall and exercised their First Amendment rights,” Murphy said, according to Politico during an event where he received the endorsement of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal .“You can both be a patriot and also say, ‘you know what, I have a right to speak my own mind.’ I give them credit.”

O’Neal, a Newark native, endorsed Chris Christie for governor in 2013.

Murphy takes the side of the anti-American haters. That’s what Democrats do. Find which act or idea most denigrates this country and proudly support it. This guy is such a politically correct, spineless weakling, it’s amazing he can stand up straight. He is a true democrat – raise taxes, check, support America haters, check, insult our flag and military, check, embrace socialism, check, kiss the butts of unions, check – yup 100% democrat

As a military veteran who served from 1970 until 1980 (Artillery Battalion Commo Sergeant) this nonsense of protesting our Anthem and Flag is so disrespectful of the soldiers, marines, airmen and sailors (as well as coast guard members and merchant seamen) who died protecting our freedoms we cherish today.

It was under this Flag that many fought and died to end the abomination of slavery. Why is that history so hard to understand? Oh, I forgot. They don’t teach “history” any more. As if history would matter to these morons.

These “underprivileged” (sarcastic) athletes who earn millions of dollars annually for playing a “game”, could actually help others by donating their salaries to inner city charities helping the homeless and hungry.

As for me, I will not waste my time, nor my money, on the NFL or on any backer of the NFL like Gatorade (PepsiCo), Visa, Campbell’s Soup, FedEx , Frito-Lay (PepsiCo), Mars Snackfood, Pepsi (PepsiCo)
    Dairy Management Inc., Bridgestone
    Gillette/Head & Shoulders/
    Vicks/Old Spice (Procter & Gamble),
    Verizon, Barclays, Papa John’s, Castrol,
    Anheuser-Busch, USAA, Bose,
    Courtyard by Marriot, Xbox (Microsoft)
Quaker Oats (PepsiCo), Tide/Duracell (Procter & Gamble), Lenovo, McDonald’s
    SAP, Surface/Windows (Microsoft)
CoverGirl (Procter & Gamble), Zebra Technologies, TD Ameritrade, Extreme Networks, Nationwide Insurance,
    Hyundai, and Nike.

It is so sad that the NFL will penalize a player for kneeling and praying (Tebow), but kneeling to protest the Flag and Anthem (a violation of their own rules) is applauded bu the owners and NFL hierarchy.
