What Christie said might well apply to the perceived front runners but with so many candidates in the race I’m thinking that for many of them (especially in the 2nd tier) an early W is not critical for survival as long as they can get themselves into the top 3 or so finishers in most of the early primaries. If/when any of the perceived front runners fail early, that can shake up the entire field and give one of the 2nd tier candidates a better shot.
