Memorial Day: IT”S ABOUT THIS!! Please pause, remember, pray and reflect on the sacrifices that have been made……. FOR YOU!
    Bless God, America.

“We have done what we could, but until it is finished, it is not done. We have given our lives, but until it is finished, no one can know what our lives gave. Whether our lives and our deaths were for peace and a new hope or for nothing, we cannot say. It is you who must say this. We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning. We were young. We have died. Remember us.” (I copied these powerful words from Jill Stevenson, Gold Star Mother.)

@Mrs. Nowels, wrote this poem in honor of your brother.

Thorne & Battle of the Bulge Memorial

What makes a man like this?
How does this come to be?
To give his life for many,
    So brave and valiantly.

    Our nation can produce them
It has shown this from the start.
It must be the taste of freedom,
    Of which we cannot part.

    The threat from foreign tyrants,
    Has been a constant fray.
    We must be ever vigilant,
To keep the threats at bay.

It is so right and proper
You are honored at this school.
You have shown the worth of freedom,
Is more than an earthly jewel.

    I hope these children learn,
For their rights and freedom to stay.
    As you have shown,
There is a high price to pay.
