Congrats to Vin. I think its good to have people in these positions that are not taking a public paycheck or earning most of their living as a paid professional taking public funds.

Vin will do a great job. He’s a hard worker with a great attitude towards building the party. Now, with Bennett in there and Madame Burry pulling ALL the stings, we have a good shot in the coming years. Congrats Vin and move it forward!!

Vin Gopal is a good man. The Dems made a fine choice, here. He’ll be a tough competitor and warrants respect.

  17. Jim Sage said at 2:29 pm on June 13th, 2012:

I congratulated John Bennett, and now its time to do likewise to Vin Gopal. I knew John during his days as Township attorney for Marlboro; Vin I knew for about three years. Both are hard workers for their party. Its obvious by the margins, the Republican camp here in Monmouth is sharply divided–a divide that I believe will affect the next series of upcoming elections.

As for “Pigs” comments (just got to love that name): Dear Pig, don’t think for a moment that wrong doing and corruption are just analouguous to Democratic candidates. As you know we Republicans had in the past Operation Bid Rig (phases 1, 2, and three) If there was a fourth phase, I am totally unaware of it. This was a huge Republican debacle that lost seats
on the Freeholder Board, and may have lost several on the local level as well. There are several scandals going on right now as I write. The Brookdale scandal (which has been quiet lately) and the Sheriff’s Pension Scandal, which no one seems to want to talk about . These all happened under the Republican watch. Until the Republicans acknowledge these episodes and call it for what it is wrong; or better yet, call for an investigation to either implicate or exonerate those involved—I will just stay on the sidelines and call it as I see it.

I am a proud Republican, although I have soured in the last several years because fellow Republicans would not call these sordid episodes wrong.

Again, good luck to Vin and John during your respective chairmanships!

  18. Monmouth Girl said at 4:28 pm on June 13th, 2012:

    Sage,

You are about as proud a Republican as Obama is.

You couldn’t land a job at the Sheriff’s Department so you are out there smearing anyone you feel has done you wrong.

Who has said that Bid Rig was not wrong? By the way Democrats were arrested as well. And no one has said the Brookdale issue was not wrong.

You love Vin so much – become a D – run for Sheriff. We would all love to watch Shuan Golden kick your know it all ass!

    Signed

    “A Real Proud Republican”

So Monmouth Girl I ask you this: Open the attached hyperlink; read it very carefully–and tell me whether it is wrong or not. Just a simple yes or no will suffice.

    http://openchannel.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/14/11690662-gov-christies-pension-issue-nj-probe-looks-at-running-mate-double-dipping

I guess not landing a job (without fraud or deception) was their loss and someone else’s gain.

And speaking of Shaun, do you find this acceptable? Again, a simple yes or no will suffice.

Would you really want me to run for sheriff as a “D”?

  20. TR said at 5:30 pm on June 13th, 2012:

oh Jim please do. It would give me a new reason to live.

You tell him Monmouth Girl. You have got this hypocrites number.

  21. TR said at 5:36 pm on June 13th, 2012:

Double Dipping hurts no one. It does not cost the taxpayers anything extra. All it means is that the government is paying out a fixed sum to one person instead of two. In many circumstances it saves taxpayors money because you can get the person to do the second job cheaper. The only reason people object to it is because they are jealous that they do not have the same deal.
And no I don’t do it and have never had the opportunity but I would if I could.

  22. Jim Sage said at 6:25 pm on June 13th, 2012:

First of all, I congratulated the winners: Vin and John. There was no need for name calling on Monmouth Girl’s part. They may be from different parties, but we are ALL Americans.

Having said that, you are 100% correct: double dipping hurts no one. For full disclosure, I am a double dipper. As much as I hate that term to get my current job, I had to have an extensive background in law enforcement–which I have.

The question is NOT double dipping; it the use of FRAUD and DECEPTION to circumvent the pension laws to permit double dipping. That is wrong. Where I come from, when you see something, you say and do something.

I guess the usage of fraud and deception is ok with you. You seem to have no problem with it. You seem to have no problem with the fact that a high ranking officer is depleting the PFRS fund when he should have been re-enrolled into it and his pension should have ceased–which is what the law mandates.

Your morals and ethics truly trouble me.

As for Sean. He is a very personable man. He has reached out to me at several Freeholder’s meetings. I wish him luck in his re-election bid–However, he needs to address and meet certain criteria(which won’t be enumerated here)to repeat his large margin of success from the past.

  23. Jim Sage said at 6:55 pm on June 13th, 2012:

    To TR and Monmouth Girl,

I am sorry but I forgot to add: the position the high ranking official was placed in was a fictitious one. It didn’t exist. It was fake; it was non-existent It is not on the table of organization of the Sheriff’s Department–hence the FRAUD and DECEPTION!!!

I believe Art tried to get a comment from Kim Guadagno, but she wouldn’t comment on the issue.

I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused leaving this minor detail out of the equation.

  24. TR said at 7:59 am on June 14th, 2012:

    Says you Sage.
When a court says it then I will believe it. I will never believe it coming out of your mouth. I know your type.
