The Candidate’s Partners

Much of the negative campaign against Christine Hanlon for Monmouth GOP Chair has been directed not at the candidate, but at her partner, Brian Nelson.

It’s all part of the sexist undertone of the campaign…  Nelson will really be the Chair…  Christine’s his puppet.  That sentiment and gossip is truly the most offensive element of this campaign to date.    It is demeaning to Hanlon and demeaning to women in general.  It is not worthy of the Monmouth GOP; the Republican County Party that has done more to advance women in politics than any other county party in the state, Democrat or Republican.

But if we are going to scrutinise Christine Hanlon’s partnership, should we not also scrutinise John Bennett’s?    Should we look into how much money his partner Frank Tedesco gave to Democrats?   Should we look into how much of the money that Tedesco and Bennett gave to Democrats was wheeled into the Monmouth Democrats?

I have the data.  It is not pretty.   It is relevant, but I doubt it will change many votes at this point.

John’s donations to Democrats are relevant. Christine addressed that issue in her mailing this weekend.

But  I don’t think Tedesco’s donations to Carl Lewis, Donald Norcross or Lou Greenwald  and others are really relevant to John’s candidacy.  Not anymore than what people think about Brian Nelson, pro or con, is to Christine’s candidacy.

This Brian Nelson guy must be some skilled puppeteer… Pam Brightbill was his puppet, Steph Murray is his puppet, now Chris Hanlon is too… How many more puppets can the poor guy handle? I bet Serena DiMaso is too, not too mention his former partner Caroline Casagrande… It’s not like a woman politician can handle it on her own (according to the ole boys club, at least)

Part 7 can be about the BIG WIN

Art take a bath. You’re covered in mud.

You have failed to master the ability to oppose a candidate without making him a full fledged enemy.

    Soften it up.

Bennet has failed to learn that also based on his response to arts posts

That’s OK Tommy. Spoken like another Republican who has never been in a competitive campaign.

I’d rather be muddy till Wednesday than have to go through two general elections defending John Bennett, especially when that fight is completley avoidable.

John Bennett would never participate on this blog.

    If Bennett wins, Monmouth looses.

The Partner I Would Like To Know About Is Who They Would Both Pick As Vice Chairs.

I’m kinda surprised that question has not been asked of both of the candidates.

Mentioning that Christine’s law partner, Brian Nelson, will be the real chair is not an anti female comment. Just the truth. Its not about who is a man or woman. It is who is best to be the chair and Christine is an untested person. Only been a Republica since 2007, not a prolific fund raiser and tied and loyal to the Middletown machine that has dominated the party yto the detriment of the rest of the county. This is all about Brian tightening his grip on the county and lining his pockets with more legal business. If she wins, do you really believe that firm will not get legal work all over the county? And to send out attack pieces? Hanon lost a lot of support by going to the gutter and then denying he had anything to do with it. Please. Shame this happened like this. She is a nice person and shoud help the party but is not a leader to run the whole operation.

Either she ran the attack pieces or she has compete lack of control of the people running her campaign. Either way she has lost complete credibility. I hear the candidates will not be afforded the opportunity to speak tomorrow. That in itself speaks volumes…

could some of these slanted, twisted people at least admit two things: 1. all large lawfirms employ, and give contributions to, both parties!.. and 2. conveniently left OUT of the attack piece that the lady chair candidate again “knew nothing” about, was the MUCH longer list of Bennett’s FIRM giving many donations to his fellow REPUBLICANS.. hope they all spent it wisely, especially the ones who rushed out to support the lady, and carry out the Trenton “directives”-I for one wouldn’t/won’t vote for any of them again for anything!.. hoping the winds of change blow their way next time they come back to all, groveling for the free help and gruntwork, and monetary support.. 3rd party challenges, anyone???. .hey, political”punishment” can work both ways, can’t it?- there’s always another day of reckoning, to come, should they stay in…..

Really? Maybe it was someone not connected with her campaign. I mean its not like Bennett hasn’t made his share of enemies over the years. See you Bennett toadies make allegations with no proof. Every thing anyone has said about Bennett is factual.

The facts mam just the facts

I think it is Bennett who has lost all credibility with his most recent piece utilizing the Lt. Governor’s photo. I guess John can’t stand on his own two feet and needs to infer that the Lt. Governor is with him.

Based on some knowledge of people inside the Bennett camp, I think they are desperately scrambling for votes.

As well, if you have proof that Christine orchestrated the Soprano State mailing, “bring it on.” Otherwise, baseless accusations only infer the need for your own “tin foil hat”
