Dean Addresses The False Rumors

I would like to address a question recently presented to me by supporters of my opposition concerning my campaign for town council and the fact that my wife is a member of the Board of Education. I was advised that I shouldn’t have let my wife run for the Board of Education and just run my own campaign.
How ridiculous. This is not 1920 and no one tells her what to do. Both my wife and I are committed to public service. We are both veterans of the Navy, having honorably served our country. At that time, no one said that only one family member should serve, the Navy was happy to have us both serve, and they knew we were dedicated service persons.
My wife serves on the School Board with no salary or benefits and I pledge, if elected, to serve the town of Marlboro and not take one dime in salary or benefits. Which is more than I can say for all the incumbents up for election this year.
The only possible time that there could be a concern is if the school budget fails and the council is asked to vote on a budget. At that time, I will have no choice but to recuse myself from that vote. But since that circumstance has only happened once in the last ten years at the k-8 level, I don’t see the concern. In fact, under those odds, I still would have a better voting record than a current councilman who has only voted on the township budget twice in the last 6 years.
It is sad that instead of joining like minded families in commitment of service to others, the opposition would rather tear us down and find fault with our service. Of course, these alleged concerns don’t apply to them, after all there is no cause for concern with the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Council Member are all named partners in a local law firm or the Council President’s husband is receiving no-bid contracts from the town.

WELL SAID, Mr. Dean.
The other side always operates by the “do as I say and not as I do” rule, and God forbid we criticize them for doing much the same as they do elsewhere.
In our town, the Dems actually try to politicize Board races.
Dean is laughable. He and his crew are the biggest rumor mongers there are. They have gone around town besmirching the personal lives of their opponents. The fact that the team of Hornik LaRocca and Marder have done the right thing is too much for them to deal with and they have launched a personal destruction campaign out of the public eye.
Dean and his crew have said that the law firm that was legally and ethically formed, as determined by outside authority, and has no connection with the town is wrong.
Does Mr. Marshall’s hawking of questionable, non FDA approved supplements, potions, and poultices have anything to do with his candidacy?
You can’t have it both ways Mr. Marshall.
Mr. Dean’s view of certain ethnic groups is well known in this town, especially his view of a certain ethnicity of some lawyers.
Voting for the DEAN TEAM is like voting for the past. The same prejudices, the same bad policies and the same skyrocketing taxes.

Dean’s wife is mexican and the mayor candidate is jewish. so stop making stuff up.
As to marder. facts are facts. her husband’s company inkwell global which she has listed on her facebook page received several thousand dollars of no-bid contracts from the town. she is the council president. that is wrong.
as to the law firm. it wasn’t formed until after the last election. Maybe if people knew that the mayor, deputy mayor and a council member were partners in the same law firm. they wouldn’t have voted for them. no one said its illegal I believe the term used was “appearance of being inappropriate”
lawyers refer cases and receive pay for doing so. the council gets a stipend plus they can take health benefits or they get paid an incentive fee not to. In this economic environment this is ridiculous. and may result in a financial benefit to the firm that they would not have otherwise.
So stop making outrageous claims and deal with the real financial issues
Obviously the mayor and marder and larocca don’t want people to see the real issues so they claim racism.
@Bill Powers, your comments are very laughable. Are you working on commission for how many lies you write in one blog post? Your boy Hornik is the master of lies and racial slander. He is being well groomed from thug politicians like Jon Corzine and Rush Holt. He knows what he’s doing. It’s no secrete that Johnny boy wants to move to higher office. He will say anything and do anything to get elected, even if it’s lies.

I’ve heard alot about the Marlboro candidates running against the union and Bergen county democrats, I mean Hornik, LaRocca, & Marder. They have the issues and a total grassroots efforts underway. Of course it is the “DEAN TEAM”. Mr. Dean is the Marlboro Republican Chairman and his wife is on the school board as well as a committee member. It was Mr. Dean along with Ms Dean, and Mr. Mario G who selected the candidates around his kitchen table. You all remember Mario and his connection with Dead “I own Marlboro “Tony and Felon “Tony owns me” Mayor Mat.(Republican).
You claim that “no bid contracts” were awarded. You OPRAed every single paper in town hall. Can you produce a single “NO BID CONTRACT”? No you can’t because there WERE NO CONTRACTS.
The constant moaning about a law firm and claim that “Maybe if people knew that the mayor, deputy mayor and a council member were partners in the same law firm. They wouldn’t have voted for them” Do you have any proof of this or is it just more of “WISHING TO MAKE IT SO”?
You claim “lawyers refer cases and receive pay for doing so.” By inference you are saying that the actions of elected officials are either illegal, unethical or improper. It has been discussed before and the fact remains that the law firm does not do business or represent any client who does business with the town. If you have a shred of evidence or proof let’s see it. You can’t BECAUSE IT DOESN”T EXIST.

The DEAN TEAM has never mentioned their economic plan, public safety plan, recreation plan, senior plan, environmental plan, or ANY OTHER PLAN to benefit Marlboro other than “Elect us, we are the keepers of truth.” , we aren’t lawyers and we don;t or give the kids in town sports statues, many of which sit in your house.
Your campaign relies solely on inference and innuendo is not becoming to you, MR. Dean or the Republicans.

It is obvious that you and MR. Dean subscribe to the same theory.
PS. Your claim of ethnic diversity is a canard. Your choice of candidates was specifically designed to garner support from the various ethnic groups with the town.and Mr. Marshall was chosen specifically because he is of the same faith as the Mayor.
Give it up already, Try sharing YOUR plans for the future of Marlboro. You haven’t done that yet.

And just to clarify a few things:
First and foremost, I don’t live in Marlboro, I live in Manalapan, but live close enough to know whats going on.
First, I was just simply pointing out the facts of the last few races in Marlboro. Nothing more, nothing less, just trying to show your ignorance.
Second, I checked it out on the web, and Mr. Dean’s wife sits on the School Board, not a committee member, so your wrong again.
Third, in my reference to Bergen and Union County democrats, it was a little political “humor” if you may when they have a Bergen County law firm representing the town, of which a former partner was investigated by the government and then recently passed away.
I don’t know how the Republicans picked their candidate, nor do I care. All I know is this WHEN the 3 of them get elected, I’m moving to Marlboro!
Sense, I guess your not moving to Marlboro anytime soon. Perhaps your question should be IF they get elected rather than WHEN.
During the years not one of the three people attended council meeting to voice their concerns regarding municipal matters. They have neither written about their disdain for former corrupt (Republican) mayor Matt Scannapieco–who single handledly destroyed this town by accepting bribes from Tony Spallierio.
Come to think about it, they never attended Republican Club meetings as well. Now they want support??? Where the hell were they in the past??? Sorry, my prediction: Marlboro will stay in Democrat control for another 4 years.
Neither Hornik, LaRocca, nor Marder take the benefits or the incentive money not to take the benefits.
They all donate all of there 300 dollar a month stipend to charity.

Also, for the record – it is a legal conflict to have a Husband and Wife sitting on Council and on the school board.

Mrs. Dean is a member of the Marlboro Municipal Republican Committee and the Marlboro Republican Club in addition to being a school board member.
Her husband Mad Man Dean, is the Chairman of the Marlboro Municipal Committee.

As to the silly Jewish reference, it doesn’t even make sense. The council is made of a real estate agent, a doctor, a marketing rep, a military man and then the mayor, deputy mayor and one council man are all attorneys and employed by the same law firm.
Seems someone is getting pretty scared Mr. Powers. Thats why in Marlboro Hornik and bunch purchased all of the billboards, changed the cable access ordinance, changed the ordinance on lawn signs and then although they record and broadcast all of town council they do not record the part where any citizen can speak.
Blocking all that free speech implies there is something to HIDE!

It was said, when speaking of the partnership and those in it.
The Republicans were once again simply outsmarted when it came to the billboards. They didn’t have the foresight to rent them.

The cable ordinance has not been changed. Can you point me to what you think was changed?
Lawn signs? There was no change in signs you can put on your lawn. The change, which has been spoken about for years, limits the clutter seen on a seasonal basis that is an eyesore. Not one person I know thinks that more political signage is good.
As I understand it, not recording the public at council meetings has not been changed recently and in fact was changed to prevent the meeting from turning into a political platform. The Republican candidates have attempted to do this at recent meetings when they addressed the audience and not the Council.
The only thing being hidden is the Republican platform on how to make our community better. Has anyone ever seen or heard a step by step plan of action from the republicans?

To clarify:
The change in sign ordinance applies to Public right of way areas. Like where the republicans have littered stretches of a county road within the past day or two.

His candidacy is a joke and he is an embarrassment to the republican party as has been the history of Marlboro republicans, Scamdapeopleo, Kleinberg were great examples. Heck the treasurer of the republican club is none other than the former planning board chairman that oversaw the approvals during the Scamdapeopleo administration, for the middle of the night rezoning of the airport propert and surrounding farms. The one that cast the deciding vote that led to the apartments to be built on the Entron site.
And yet there are sure to be the partisan impaired who will vote for the team of Done Nothing, Newbie and Who Is She? simply because of the R in front of their names, sad really.
I was present when Christoper Dean made the comments Paul Schlaflin is talking about. It was in the parking lot at the Marlboro Municipal Complex immediatley following a Town Council meeting. The three of us were talking and Mr. Dean was referring to Frank LaRocca as “Barney Rubble” to which I politely asked him to not refer to my friend in that manner. As we spoke about the economy and crime, Mr. Dean started to use the “N” word as it relates to African Americans. At that point I told him that one of my oldest and closest friends was Black and I didn’t appreciate the use of the word. I can’t speak to any comments made about Mr. Dean using any other racist slangs, but it’s well known that I’m a Republican and support Hornik, LaRocca, Marder. I find it disturbing that someone that would seek to be a community leader would use this language, and I’ll be happy to submit to a Lie Detector test if that’s what it takes to prove it. Would Mr. Dean? I think not.

Actually, Bill Powers/JG, the county road littering to which you refer is private property; not public right of way.
We are at an age where “cultural competency” is essential. One must not present , prejudice, bigotry, or discrimination. I know Chris Dean very well . Chris Dean is bias toward the “rich white man”, he is prejudice against anyone of another race or religion. He has been heard refering to people as “jebs”, “homies”, “Niggers”, “Rag heads”, and “dot heads”, and the list continues on. He claims to be a Christian, yet Christians dont judge others. Christians are supposed to be non judgemental because Jesus is the real judge. To readers I am not biased toward Christanity, I am diest. I believe in equality and acceptance of everyone despite their race, ethnicity, culture, and religion. America is the land of the free, you are free to choose your representative. I just wanted to shed some light, if you are not white and rich dont expect him to have your back.
