looks better for the Rep’s..11 still gets the tough towns, but a better balance.. and, likely , the first “all-ladies” district in NJ?..about time Monmouth caught a break.. if we don’t stay all- R, it’s our own fault!.. looks like the main “sacrificial/ casualty” was Sean..and, some days, it is really good to be Joe the K..
One has to wonder if Christie’s hand was in pitting Kean against Singer, who has disagreements with; especially after Christie was dissed by Kean over the snow storm response. There are always conspiracy theories, but to throw overboard someone like Kean seems very strange.
I have no problem leaving the district to help Kean & Rible if they decided to challenge in their new districts; although I suspect their prospects might be slim because of Lakewood.
Such are the nightmares gerrymandering presents us with.
Does this put Declan against Hanlon and Thompson? Is Thompson out of that district now?
Where do Angelini and Rible live? Are they now up against Casagrande?
So this means we’re still stuck with Beck. Geesh. Another term of NO representation. She’s just awful and only shows her head during an election year. I must admit that Casagrande has a done a decent job and some of her initiatives are right on the money. But Beck? A do nothing Senator. Oh well.
TR..
Angelini ends up in the new 12th. Rible lives in Wall and goes to the new 30th as an incumbent and should retain his seat.
Art’s most recent post answers the questions about Thompson, et al.
And yes, I would have kept Kean in a heartbeat over Beck.
we did pretty well in Monmouth..lots of work to do to keep Freehold GOP and get rid of Mallet, in this “off-turnout year”.. agree with the poster who said we can go either way in an election, it is true, especially if the APP is still in business.. it’s stunning, how Ocean County can keep the same guys on their board for decades, elect no women, build a $55 million jail, HIRE lots more officers, and have a small increase, and they’re fine,in the opinion of that rag: here, we hold the tax rate flat, decrease the number of county workers, and spend less in a lousy economic climate, and we still get beaten to death by those “libs/com’s”.. it’s so frustrating.. hopefully, more voters will realize we are doing pretty well in this, the 4th largest county in this state!.. and, thank the Monmouth GOP for making it and keeping it such a lovely place to live, if ya have to be in Jersey!..
This new 30th District is very interesting to a Howell boy who grew up in those little shore towns (particularly with a St. Rose connection).
Hmmmm…….
Maybe Art gets to make another announcement.
