Disturbing DYFS Story Regarding A Military Hero’s Family
Military Hero Loses All 5 Children to State
By Art Gallagher
This disturbing story published at The Tea Party Daily News was just brought to MMM’s attention.
The story is of Major John Jackson and his wife Carolyn fighting the State of New Jersey for custody of their five children who were taken from them and placed in foster care by DYFS after one of the children was hospitalized for dehydration that resulted from a fever.
According to the Tea Party Daily News report, two the the children, ages 9 and 10, have been physically and emotionally abused while in foster care.
The Jackson’s case is the subject of an administrative hearing in Morris County this week, according to an MMM reader familiar with the case.
MMM has not investigated the facts of this story. The Tea Party Daily News story is clearly written with a pro-Jackson, anti-DYFS slant, which may or may not be appropriate. We are bringing the situation to our readers’ attention in the best interests of the children involved and with the hope that one or more of our readers in positions of power will look into the case with an unbiased eye.
There needs to be a good hard look at these type of bureaucracies that seem to exist outside the laws of the state. I am not going after the individual workers at DYFS I am sure for the most part they are hard working individuals who care deeply for the children they are trying to help. But how is it they can come into someone’s home without trial or evidence presented to a judge and kidnap his children. If they felt these children were being abused then it needs to get into a court room right away not a year later.
If the Tea party news is incorrect then the proper legal action needs to be taken against the family. If they are right I believe the same legal action needs to be brought against the foster families and the DYFS workers who through their over reaction caused harm to these children.
I know the Jackson’s and the details behind this. It is obvious that with DYFS, the welfare of children takes a back seat to the bureaucrats justifying their own budgets and self interest at the expense of the children.
If any private charity would do what DYFS has done in this case, people would probably go to jail. DYFS needs to be completely overhauled if not eliminated, and replaced by someone that has the child’s best interest at heart.
Please contact the Governor Christie, and plead that he can look into DYFS, and the Jackson’s
Since when does journalism involve reporting on one side of a story based largely on hearsay? Any intelligent person should pretty much stop reading once they reach the sentence, “While I have not heard the DYFS side of this story…” I am no Sherlock Holmes but perhaps Mary Pat can begin her query by picking up the phone and asking DYFS why they actually removed the children from the Jackson’s custody. Her second question should address the child whom died while in the Jackson’s care.
Mr. Gallagher, Has their been any update on major Jackson since January 2011? i am very interested.
John
