Christopher Dean resigns as Marlboro GOP Chair
Selika Josiah Gore is elected unanimously as new Chairwoman
Marlboro- Christopher Dean resigned as Chairman of the Marlboro Republican committee yesterday. Selika Josiah Gore was unanimously elected by the committee members as the new Chairwoman.
Gore is a wife and mother of two teen-aged boys. An attorney who works as an executive at the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission, she was the Deputy Campaign Manager for Scott Sipprelle’s 2010 run for congress and has considerable experience in state, county and local campaigns. She has served as Vice Chair of the Marlboro Republicans for the last four years.
“I’m honored to have the support of my Committee members, said Gore, “I look forward to working with our county and state partners to continue to build a solid Republican organization in Marlboro. We need to focus on fielding the best candidates to bring our message of smaller government and fiscal responsibility to the people of Marlboro. That is what I plan to do.”
Dean, the husband of Marlboro Board of Education Vice President Victoria Dean, said that he was convinced that the recent controversy over his wife’s facebook posts were politically motivated attacks on his family designed to give the Democrats an issue to run on in the upcoming municipal election.
“I love my wife more than I love politics or any political position,” Mr. Dean said. “Our political opponents have twisted and exaggerated my wife’s facebook activity and politicized the Board of Education. I am stepping down for the good of my family, for the good of Marlboro and to eliminate the distraction.”
Perhaps the Marlboro Republican Club can begin a re-birth. Under Mr. Dean’s leadership and polarization, many long-time members left the Club in droves. So much so, the Club unfortunately disbanded.
Marlboro was a huge Republican town. To see the changes were really sad.
There is no doubt the County wanted this man to step down. The Dean family has been very controversial since moving to Marlboro about 9 years ago.
Their litigious actions have cost the town thousands. To prove a point, they shut the recreation basketball league down to prove a point about its tax status. Ok, you won Chris, but who suffered? the boys enrolled in the program. You don’t think that outraged the public against you?
Your wife also needs to resign to do the right thing. It may have been a mistake, but like the actions you and your wife took with the basketball league, you have angered and outraged others against your actions.
Call it quits–the both of you. You guys tried, but it wasn’t worth the cost to your families.
Time to give Shelika the reigns and go into a new direction.

When all else fails, blame “political opponents”
So losing basketball hurt the kids, but you advocate losing a child/education advocate on the Board of Ed over clicking on Facebook?? Oh, for gosh sakes!–Very tired of these games and nonsense. Focus on actual issues- ones that matter.
Our BOE is NOT a political chew toy for you or anyone else to tinker with at your political whim. The neighbors and friends I chat with find this repugnant; leave our BOE members OUT of your political games. We are paying attention.
Knock it off.
Beating a dead horse much? The man resigned, the family’s been dragged through the mud. How about leave it be??
The Dean’s were divisive and polarizing force in Marlboro. That plural–as in both of them. They have ran the local Republican Club into the ground where it disbanded. Even the Republican old-time stalwarts disagreed with them.
The best thing for the Republicans in Marlboro is that he stepped down. Now, its time for Ms. Dean to do the same.
the hateful Dems led by Hornik try and tarnish Mrs. Gore.
I bet you they want a do over because the witch hunt blew up in their faces.
The witchhunt was very successful. Dean, as in Mr, resigned. Gore is no threat to the Democratic chokehold in Marlboro–rest assured!
We’ll see about that. Rome is never built in a day.
I am 100% confidence that he wouldnt have resigned if it wasnt for all the heavy pressure, for a long time now, from the county and state for him to leave. They just wanted him gone, now he can say it is him loving his wife that made him gone.
Anyone else wondering why he decided now? in the midst of her scandal? Mr. Dean, again you have not fooled anyone with your lies.
